Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday dear me, Happy Birthday to me!
In true form, I’ve had a week-long celebration for my Birthday, this month I turned 26. I started off the celebrations with brunch at Bronte Restaurant on the Strand, London with some of my closest friends. I was introduced to this restaurant in January when we went for my sister in laws Birthday, the design and decor are outstanding and right up my street. The highlight has to be the bar, I instantly feel I’m back in the 1920s which as I’m sure you’re aware is my favourite era. We started the day with a glass of Prosecco whilst ordering our food; I went for the soft shell crab burger and my god it didn’t disappoint. After we ate, for dessert I chose to have an Espresso Martini which ticked all the right boxes. The staff were so lovely and went to the effort of making me a dessert for my Birthday and the bartender made a round of shots for us. Little details like this make all the difference and it was such an enjoyable experience, I recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Next, we spent the rest of the afternoon mooching around Covent Garden, my favourite place in London and looking in all the little makeup boutiques. We then went to the newly refurbished All Bar One in Leicester Square where many a cocktail were drunk, my favourite being the Aperol Spritz.
I was lucky enough to be on annual leave from 5th-7th July so on my last day in the office my beautiful team at work decorated my desk with balloons and banners and we spent the day listening to One Direction and eating cake. It was the perfect pre Birthday celebration!
On my actual birthday I got up early and went for a run (shock) and then when I came back I opened my presents from Barney. As Christmas is my favourite time of year, he decorated our living room with Christmas bits and we made a big Christmas Dinner. It was amazing! It definitely confirmed that it’s one of my favourite dinners! He then surprised me with this amazing Rainbow cake which I scoffed a lot of!
Turning 26 has been great so far, here’s to the year ahead!
