Goals for 2018

Here we are, New Years Eve 2017. I can’t quite believe tomorrow is the start of a brand new year, 2018! I am definitely one of those people who like to start the year afresh with new goals so tomorrow I will no doubt be spending the day sorting through the house and decluttering. Last year I wrote a post on my New Year Resolutions for 2017 so thought I’d take the time now to go through them and see how well I did!

Resolutions for 2017:
1. Lose weight/exercise more
So this didn’t exactly go to plan … For the first few months, I was losing around 1lb a week which although was slow, was a good steady pace and I actually went running weekly. Then I hit a wall and I remained the same weight for around 2 months, I just couldn’t lose it so I guess this was the point I started giving up. I’ve definitely put it all back on but I’m hoping I don’t weigh more than this time last year!

2. Eat healthier/cook more
I think I’ve done quite well on this one, I’ve definitely come up with a good few new recipes that we recreate on a weekly basis and the takeaways have cut down a lot so I’m giving this resolution a big old tick. I really enjoy cooking and I think my skills have definitely improved.

3. See more live shows
This year I saw some amazing live music concerts; GreenDay, Frankie Valli, Guns n Roses, Celine Dion, and James Arthur. One of our favourite things to do is see live music so this is a resolution I will make every year. I also saw some great theatre shows; DreamGirls was out of this world and I also saw the UK tour of The Wedding Singer which is one of my favourite shows!

4. Spend more times with friends
This year absolutely flew by so although I tried to make sure I saw my friends, I blinked and a whole month had gone by so I definitely want to try and see my friends once a month this new year.

Goals for 2018:
This year instead of calling them resolutions, I want to aim for a few ‘goals’ in 2018. I’m hoping the year won’t flash by quite as fast so I can fit them all in!

1. Lose weight/exercise more
I have to put this one up again as I have piled on the pounds recently, I’d like to lose a stone and keep it off.

2. See more live shows
Already we have a few planned for the new year and I can’t wait! I don’t think anything quite beats standing in a stadium surrounded by fellow fans and screaming out the lyrics to a song so I would like more of this, this year, please.

3. Spend more times with friends
I don’t have a lot of friends but the ones I do have are my friends for life so I really want to see more of them. Life totally gets in the way but I’m sure we can make it work somehow.

4. Finish the flat
We’ve been in the flat for over a year now and although it is very nearly complete, there are still odd shelves, picture frames and blinds that need going up so I’d like to get this all done this year.

5. Collaborate with some brands on the blog
I’ve definitely got my blogging mojo back so I’d like to reach out to as many brands as possible this year … wishful thinking eh?
