This year I was lucky enough to have bought and moved into our very first flat with my boyfriend. This has made this Christmas extra exciting as I got to buy all new homeware, especially for Christmas!!! Below are pictures of my favourite bits and pieces …
The top picture is three metal cages in Christmas shapes (Tree, Gingerbread Man and Reindeer) filled with potpourri. Perfect for our natural theme and makes the house smell amazing, £8 each.
The wreath runs alongside this theme with beautiful oranges and cinnamon sticks, a Christmas necessity for £10.
The Christmas trees were a bargain, pre-lit for £5 and the decorations were from Primark (£2.50)
The Pound Shop
I was actually very impressed with a lot of the decorations in the Pound Shop this year, I rarely go in but thought I’d see if they had some cheap lights and ended up coming out with these cute decorations and for £1 each, fantastic value. My favourite is probably the pine cone and cinnamon stick garland, it is actually beautiful when hung up, and all three have that natural/handmade touch.
Sass and Belle
This shop is one I always want to go in when I pass it. It is full to the brim with cute little trinkets, and their Christmas collection is just beautiful. I picked up these two garlands for quite cheap, and they add the finishing touches to my living room.
You can always count on John Lewis, especially at Christmas. My boyfriend had to restrain me from buying everything in the shop. I managed to escape with this advent candle for £8 which I like to light every day, it’s a great way to countdown to Christmas. I also got the Snowshill Whitewash Wooden Tree Ladder for £10, and I love it. So original but beautiful to look at.
These wooden scatter stars are so lovely, I have sprinkled a few on my window sill and popped a few into my homemade potpourri for added festiveness (blog post here). I will probably use these as table decorations on Christmas Day, great natural decoration.
This cute little sign is only £4 and is a quote from the ever-festive ‘White Christmas’. It’s a subtle yet classy decoration and one I hope to keep for many years.
I love festive twigs, and this makes a great addition to my hallway. I have a few varieties in this vase, all from Tesco. I have also added fairy lights to make them extra festive, and they give out the right amount of light, transforms my hallway!
The White Company
No Christmas is complete without the Winter Candle from The White Company. This is my favourite festive scent and a candle that I repurchase every year. I always get the slightly bigger one that you can see the fruit through as it just gives it that special extra touch. I’ve placed it on a decorative glass plate from Sainsbury’s and can’t wait to light it!
I think it’s safe to say my flat is looking and smelling very Christmassy. Let me see what you have bought this year, my home can never be too festive!
