Baby, It’s Cold Outside … here a few of my favourite hot drinks to make and sip around the fireplace at Christmas.
Starbucks and Costa do amazing ones of these, but it’s fun to make one at home! All I do is fill a mug with milk, add a spoonful of coffee and stir well. Put this in the microwave for two mins to get the milk steaming. Add a shot of gingerbread syrup and use an electric milk whisk to froth it all up. Top with squirty cream and sprinkle with nutmeg. Drink alongside eating a Gingerbread Man (recipe here).
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Heat some milk up in a pan and add a few spoonfuls of your favourite hot chocolate (I’m loving Freddo Drinking Chocolate at the moment). Add a splash of peppermint syrup and give a good stir until steaming. Transfer into a big festive mug and top with squirty cream and chocolate dusting powder. Add a candy cane for extra minty-ness, and you’re good to go.
This is lovely and available all year round, but I love the festive taste of cinnamon, ginger and clove. I totally cheat on this and use Drink Me Skinny Blend Chai Latte Mix, but it is incredible! Simply add to a mug of boiling water and stir. That easy and tastes amazing!
