December 1st means one thing to me … chocolate for breakfast! It’s the day I get to open my advent calendar and embrace all things Christmas. I’ve decided to do Blogmas as it’s my favourite time of the year and feel I have a lot to share with you! What better way to start off Blogmas than to start with The Christmas Tag …

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
This is extremely hard; I watch Christmas films all year round as I’m that obsessed so to choose one seems almost impossible. I think I’d have to choose ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’. Christmas in New York is like a fairy tale come true so seeing all the landmarks dressed up festively is heaven and I also just love Kevin. My other favourites would be Elf, The Snowman and The Grinch.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning. Always has been and always will be. Santa visits Christmas Eve, and we all know he won’t come if we aren’t asleep, so it has to be Christmas morning. This year though is mine and Barney’s first Christmas in our new flat, so we’ve decided to buy each other a Christmas Eve Sack and fill it with new pyjamas, some chocolate, a candle and some bath products. Everything you need for the perfect Christmas Eve!

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I don’t think I have a favourite memory. I love waking up early on Christmas morning, turn on my little Christmas tree lights and watch the Snowman in bed while waiting for everyone else to get up. I’m 25 and still do this. We have a slight tradition in our house that we all sit around the tree and open our stockings first and then our main presents.

4. Favourite festive food?
Pigs in Blankets. I adore these, and they are my favourite part of the Christmas dinner. I don’t think I could live without chocolate at Christmas either though; Terry’s Chocolate Orange, Miniature Heroes, Gold Coins …

5. Favourite Christmas gift?
Christmas presents always seem more exciting when you’re a child. On my first Christmas, I received a cuddly lamb that I named Lambie (original). I still have her to this day, so it’s definitely special to me.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Mulled wine. I associate so many smells with Christmas; gingerbread, mince pies, oranges, cloves etc. Mulled wine I feel includes all of these and is just the best, I like to buy many candles with this smell, and they leave my house smelling and feeling so festive!

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
I used to go to Christmas Eve mass when I was younger. I used to be involved in the nativity when I was in the infants, and I loved dressing up as an angel. Now that I’m older, that tradition has kind of faded although I’d love to go to a carol service somewhere, there is nothing more festive than singing Christmas carols! The past few years though we tend to watch Christmas films, finish wrapping any presents while drinking Bucks Fizz and Baileys and listening to Christmas music. I suppose the one Christmas Eve tradition I have is leaving out a mince pie and drink for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph. I know I’m grown up now, but I have to do it.

8. What tops your tree?
Over the years we’ve had various toppers from a big red velvet bow to a gold star to a red angel. This year I get to decorate my own tree in our new home, and we’ve gone for a 3D star made out of cork. Our Christmas tree theme is natural so thought this worked really well.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I don’t think there was a wild present. I was very girly and loved getting dolls, Polly Pockets, My Little Ponies and Barbie’s! I was always delighted with what I received and felt like the luckiest girl!

10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
It has to be the build-up. As you can probably guess Christmas is my most favourite time of the year and Christmas day itself goes by so fast. I love counting down the days with my advent calendar, walking the streets full of Christmas lights and decorating my home. I also love giving presents, I think I’m quite good at getting presents for people, and when I have bought a gift for someone I know they will genuinely love/not expect, it gives me the best feeling!

I hope you enjoyed my tag; I’ve left the questions below for you to copy and paste for you to answer yourselves! Let me know if you have; I’d love to read them!
