Last week my Mum turned 60 so for her Birthday as a family we went to the iconic Ritz Hotel in London for Afternoon Tea. The architecture inside the hotel was amazing, so detailed and stunning. The food was lovely; endless supplies of sandwiches, scones, cakes and with a range of bottomless tea to choose from, it was my idea of heaven. The only downfall, in my opinion, was that the men had to wear jackets and ties. I agree entirely that both men and women should dress up for this occasion but at the table, the men were not allowed to take their jackets off and with it being 33 degrees in London that day and no air con inside the Hotel, it made for an uncomfortable dining experience for them. Aside from that, I would urge anyone to go here and participate in Afternoon Tea, it’s so iconic and I felt very proud to be British!
